Legislative-Required Exams
Georgia law requires that all candidates for a degree from an institution supported by public funds shall pass an examination "of the History of United States and the History of Georgia" and an examination "upon the provisions and principles of the United States Constitution and the Constitution of Georgia."
The requirements for instruction in the above areas can be met by satisfactorily completing one of the following courses at either ǧÃŬAV or another university in the University System of Georgia: HIST 2111, HIST 2112 or POLS 1101.
However, if you transferred one or more of these courses into ǧÃŬAV from a private in-state institution, you may need to complete a Georgia legislative exam to meet the mandated requirements. All out-of-state institutions will have to complete at least two exams to meet the mandated requirements. AP, CLEP, or IB credit for any of the above courses will not satisfy Georgia requirements, therefore, testing will be required.
