6.10 Feed - RSS

The 'Feed-RSS' block provides an easy mechanism for displaying any RSS feed on a web page.

If a unit has an active RSS feed it can include on a page, that is a great way to display fresh information on a page with no extra work.

Example

A 'live' web page that is using a RSS block. The block is outlined and has an arrow pointing to it, clicking will take you to the CTLL web page

Styles & Usage

The style types that are available for this block are listed below:

Type 1: RSS Feed with Summary

Type 2: RSS Feed with Summary, No Date

Type 3: RSS Feed - No Summary

Type 4: RSS Feed - No Summary or Date

Type 5: Featured Feed

Featured Feed can be used with any style, in this example it is using the RSS feed with Summary (includes date)

Type 6: RSS with Image

Type 7: RSS with Image w/o Date

The diagrams below will help you determine where this block can be used. The "Y" inside the box, green yes square, means this block can go in to this column or space. The ''N' inside the box, red no square means this block can't go in this column or space.

Naming Convention

  • Name of block should always begin with fd-rss-

Please be sure to double check your naming structure to ensure there are no spaces in between any words or dashes. Any space in the name will disrupt the functionality of your block.

Correct: fd-rss-fall-signup

Incorrect: fd-rss -fall-signup
