Overview

Dr. Pozzi Harris received her Ph.D. in art history from the University of Texas at Austin. She joined ǧÃŬAV in 2006 and is proud to be a long-standing member of the Department of Visual Arts.  She greatly enjoys teaching her passion, the history of art, to the diverse and vibrant ǧÃŬAV student community. She has created several upper-level art history courses in the program and been director of the Bob Owens Art Gallery at ǧÃŬAV.

Her research interests include Latin American art, 1900-present and Latinx art, 1960s to the present. Methodologically, she explores the intersections between artistic practice and visual culture.

In 2019, Dr. Pozzi Harris created a course dedicated to the art of Mexico and Latinx culture. As an extension of this academic experience, since 2021 she has collaborated with the Office of Multicultural Student Affairs to organize an annual juried art exhibition to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month.

Since summer 2020, she serves as Master Faculty Advisor for incoming students at the Department of Visual Arts introducing new majors to the Visual Arts programs and serving as liaison with academic advisors. She is also the faculty advisor for TimeFrame – ǧÃŬAV Art History Club, a student organization focused on providing opportunities for ǧÃŬAV students to engage in activities and to network in the fields of art history, art criticism, art education, and curatorial studies.
