Viewbook 2024: Jolie Lester Video Transcript

[Jolie Lester, Business Management] - My name is Jolie Lester. I'm a junior here at the University of North Georgia. I'm a business management major, and I am studying German as a minor as well. I play softball and I play leftfield. I chose ǧÃŬAV because of the family-oriented environment and the excellent athletic facilities on campus. The biggest adjustment coming into college is understanding time management, being able to balance school and athletics at the same time while still living on your own without your parents. I overcame that difficulty, being able to be with my teammates and my roommates and being underneath the senior captains and understanding their role and being able to follow their footsteps.

My proudest ǧÃŬAV moment is winning the national championship in 2023 is something that can never be taken away and something that I'll always be proud of. I'm a member of the national German team. I played there two summers ago, and it was such a cool experience. I played in the Czech Republic, as well as Barcelona, Spain. And this is something that my family is very proud of, especially my German family. And I was supposed to play overseas this fall in Poland and in the Netherlands, but I cannot anymore due to an injury. But that is something that I will continue to do after college and something that I am very proud of for my German family. The connection between my teammates is definitely something that I will have for the rest of my life. The relationships I've made made here on and off the field with my teammates will forever be with me. Being able to see their personalities on and off the field is just such a great thing to see

Advice I would give to a freshman is to just soak it all in. It goes by so quick, and as a junior already, I feel like I'm still a freshman. So just live up the bad moments and the good moments, and it goes by quick. But it's definitely a great experience at ǧÃŬAV.
