Overview

Dr. Hite came to ǧÃŬAV in the Fall of 2015 as one of two faculty on the new ǧÃŬAV Blue Ridge campus. She was very excited to be an integral part of starting a brand new campus and has been thrilled to see it grow since 2015. Dr. Hite became interested in psychology during high school, so of course, she began her college career as an engineering major. Quickly deciding that would not be something she wanted to do for 40 or so years, she changed her major to psychology. Her main interests during college were developmental psychology, experimental psychology, cognitive psychology, and social psychology. Ultimately, she decided to pursue a Ph.D. in cognitive psychology doing research involving decision making, framing effects, and counterfactual thinking. Her research interests include those topics as well as environmental psychology and the psychology of humor.
