University of North Georgia (ǧÃŬAV) President Michael Shannon is hosting "Reveille: Awakening the Future of Higher Education" at 7 p.m. Aug. 7 and 10 a.m. Aug. 8 in the Convocation Center at ǧÃŬAV's Dahlonega Campus.

Shannon joined ǧÃŬAV in July 2023, and since that time, he has helped the university embrace the mindset of a "150-year-old startup" — a blend of rich legacy and the necessity to reinvent continually. Agility, daring and boldness have been the cornerstones of the approach.

"At ǧÃŬAV, we are working to create a university that has never existed before. Is that a bold proposition? Absolutely. But our nation, communities and industries need people who dare boldly enough to make a difference," Shannon said. "And with our rich history of producing agile-minded leaders, ǧÃŬAV is uniquely equipped and prepared to lead from the front.”

Shannon invites everyone to join him for an inspiring presentation of ǧÃŬAV's vision to redefine the future of higher education. Over the past year, leaders across ǧÃŬAV have been diligently working to implement his seven strategic big bets outlined in his October white paper "Bold Forward: Running Into Our Calling." He will unveil this groundbreaking work and reveal several exciting surprises, offering a wake-up call to those ready to embrace a bold, forward-thinking approach to education.
