Athletics staff members attend sports leadership summit

Six ǧÃŬAV athletics staff members attended the Leaders Sport Performance Summit this summer.

Six University of North Georgia (ǧÃŬAV) athletics staff members attended the Leaders Sport Performance Summit this summer at Mercedes-Benz Stadium as guests of the , which is helping prepare Qatar for its role as the 2022 World Cup host.

ǧÃŬAV's attendees were , associate athletic director for business and senior woman administrator; , head men's basketball coach; Chris Adams, head women's soccer coach; , director of sports performance; Adam Blake, assistant men's basketball coach; and Rob Shamblin, sports performance graduate assistant.

Dr. Jim Crupi, a ǧÃŬAV alumnus and member of ǧÃŬAV's Board of Trustees, secured complimentary admission for the group of Nighthawk staff members. Crupi is the president of Strategic Leadership Solutions, and his consulting clients include Coca-Cola, AT&T and IBM.

As part of the summit, attendees networked with individuals representing MLB, NBA and World Cup, as well as USA Swimming and other international sports organizations. The summit also had leaders from outside of sports, including the military, the medical field and human performance.

The Nighthawk staff members were the only intercollegiate athletics staff members from Georgia present at the summit.
