ǧÃŬAV Emerging Leader Award 2019

The ǧÃŬAV Emerging Leader Award recognizes faculty who have assumed leadership roles within the last five years and who exemplify ǧÃŬAV's commitment to shared governance and effective leadership. These awards were announced at Convocation in fall 2019.

Dr. Nathan Price, assistant professor of political science and international affairs, received his Ph.D. degree in 2012 from Louisiana State University with a concentration in comparative politics and a minor in American politics. In 2015, Price began teaching on ǧÃŬAV's Blue Ridge campus and has served as the Coordinator for the Blue Ridge Scholars program since 2018.

Dr. Robin O'Day, assistant professor of anthropology, has been published in journals including Anthropology News and The Asia-Pacific Journal. His area of expertise is cultural anthropology with a specialization in Japanese culture, which he put to practice in 2018 as an Invited Visiting Professor at Sophia University in Japan and in 2014-2016 as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Tsukuba in Japan.
